Goverdhan Puja in Vrindavan

Radhey Radhey

Govardhan Puja is a grand and spiritually significant festival celebrated in Vrindavan, commemorating Lord Krishna’s miraculous act of lifting the Govardhan Hill to protect the villagers of Gokul from the wrath of Lord Indra. Observed a day after Diwali, this festival celebrates Krishna’s divine protection, love for his devotees, and his connection with nature.

Vrindavan, a place deeply associated with Krishna’s pastimes, becomes a hub of devotion and festivity during Govardhan Puja. The day begins with devotees visiting the Govardhan Hill, performing the “Parikrama” (circumambulation) as an act of reverence and devotion. They chant Krishna’s name, sing bhajans, and offer prayers, expressing gratitude for his protection and blessings.
